Autumn 2009 – what a memorable time for the world’s probably smallest watch manufacturer: Exactly 5 years after the presentation of their very first model Habring² celebrates it’s successor: The name is program – Time Only – hours, minutes, seconds – nothing else!

30mm diameter and a height of 4,6mm or 6.6mm are the vital figures of the new movement. The different heights standing for the manually wound version (A09M) and automatically wound version (A09) which are available for the same price. The A09 calibre family replaces the formerly used ETA 6498-1 in the Habring² movement range.

With this new movement Habring² is celebrating the next milestone on the way to their very own manufacture movement without leaving their well known price-value ratio. While their current movement families A07 (jumping seconds) and A08 (chronographs) already carry major modifications and detailed refinements the new A09 tops them with it’s in-house developed bidirectional automatic winding system which sets new benchmarks in efficiency, reliability and comfort.

It supplies the energy to the same train gears as in the sister calibres A07 and A08 – enough for 48 hours of autonomy. The escapement and balance are in chronometer quality with Triovis-regulation system and stop seconds completing – as usual – the technical data.

Although a different size, a visual similarity to ETA's successful "Valgranges" caliber family can not be denied. Nevertheless the Habring² A09 is a completely new design. One of the main emphasis of the development was to increase the ease of service. In comparison to the well known ETA-design Habring’s solution foresees the ability to remove the entire automatic winding module within seconds, to access the basic movement whenever necessary.

While the production of most of the components is subcontracted to swiss and german specialists, the finishing, assembling and fine tuning are of course carried out at the Völkermarkt based atelier looking over mountains and lakes.

A worthy base price model of a small watch manufacturer who’s production hardly reaches 50 pieces per year. The new Time Only is available in several dial versions.
